JVBC Girls Volleyball Club Commitment Agreement
As a member of the JVBC Girls Volleyball Club, each player is expected to commit to the following principles and guidelines throughout the season. This agreement is designed to foster a positive, respectful, and competitive environment for all players, coaches, and families.
1. Conduct Expectations
- Respect for Teammates and Coaches: All players are expected to treat their teammates, coaches, and opposing teams with respect both on and off the court. Bullying, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
- Sportsmanship: Players are required to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. This includes respecting officials’ decisions, encouraging teammates, and handling both wins and losses with grace.
- Club Representation: As members of JVBC, players represent the club at all times, including during tournaments, practices, and travel. All players are expected to uphold the club’s reputation through positive and respectful behavior.
- Zero Tolerance for Drug or Alcohol Use: JVBC maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding drug or alcohol use. Any player found to be using, in possession of, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol during club-related activities will face immediate suspension or dismissal from the team.
2. Social Media Conduct
- Positive Representation: Players are reminded that their social media activity reflects on the entire club. Any posts or comments that are inappropriate, offensive, or harmful will not be tolerated.
- Cyberbullying: JVBC maintains a zero-tolerance policy for cyberbullying or any form of online harassment directed at teammates, opponents, or anyone else.
- Team Communication: Players should use team-designated platforms for communication and always keep messages respectful and team-oriented.
- Guidelines for Posting: Players should seek permission from teammates and coaches before posting team-related images or videos on their personal accounts.
3. Attendance and Punctuality Policy
- Mandatory Practices and Games: Players are expected to attend all practices and games unless previously excused. Absences must be communicated to the coach at least [specified timeframe] before the practice session.
- Punctuality: Being on time for practices, games, and team events is a crucial part of demonstrating commitment and respect for the team. Players are expected to arrive promptly and be ready to begin at the designated start time.
- Impact of Tardiness: Tardiness disrupts the flow of practice and impacts the entire team’s performance. Repeated tardiness will result in reduced playing time during games and may limit participation in practice drills.
- Consequences for Tardiness: If a player is consistently late without a valid excuse, the coach reserves the right to adjust playing time in games, or in some cases, the player may be asked to sit out portions of practice.
4. Injuries and Medical Conditions
- Reporting Injuries or Conditions: Players are responsible for informing their coaches of any injuries or medical conditions that may impact their participation in practice or games. Players should be honest and transparent about their physical health to ensure their safety and that of the team.
- Medical Clearance: If a player is recovering from an injury or medical condition, they may be required to provide medical clearance from a healthcare professional before resuming full participation in practices or games.
- Safety First: Players should not hide injuries or conditions in an attempt to continue playing, as this may cause further harm to themselves or the team. JVBC prioritizes player safety above all else.
5. Player Position and Playing Time
- Position Assignments: Players may or may not play the same position they do on their high school teams. Coaches will assign positions based on what is best for the team as a whole and each player’s skill set and development.
- Playing Time: Equal playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time is earned based on performance, effort in practice, attitude, and commitment. The coaching staff will make decisions that prioritize team success while also fostering individual growth.
6. Prompt Payment Policy
- Payment Schedule: All club fees must be paid according to the payment schedule provided at the start of the season. Timely payment ensures the club can operate efficiently and provide the necessary resources for team development.
- Failure to Pay: Failure to make payments by the scheduled due dates will result in immediate suspension from all team activities, including practices, games, and tournaments, until the outstanding balance is paid in full.
- Consequences: If fees remain unpaid after the deadline, the player's participation in the team may be permanently terminated. The club reserves the right to withhold uniforms or other team-provided gear until all payments are up to date.
7. Policy Revisions
- Policy Updates: The JVBC Player Commitment Policy may be updated and revised as the season progresses to reflect any new needs or changes within the team. Any updates to the policy will be communicated to players and parents in a timely manner, and players will be expected to adhere to any new guidelines.
